We are happy to announce the addition of Jason “Woadie” Stevenson to the EighthInch team. Living in Portland puts him right in the middle of a great urban cycling community. He spends most of his free time playing polo and he recently got his Butcher all built up as a polo rig. Woadie has definitely been putting in time on the court this year and has made the journey to every NAHBC qualifier this year. Check out more on Woadie in his rider profile.
We get a lot of calls from customers asking us how to install our splined cranksets. Here’s a short video tutorial we put together with step by step instructions. It’s a pretty easy process once you know the tools you need and the right steps to take. Make sure to watch until the end to catch a coupon code that should make installation even easier!
I saw this pop up on The Foot Down earlier today. It’s a great mini documentary covering the underground fixed scene in Dublin. There are some interviews with our friends at On Track Dublin and EighthInch rider Johnny O’Byrne. They discuss how the fixed scene started there and where it is today with people branching out into bike polo and FGFS. It’s great to see a strong urban cycling scene over there.

Jeffery has been riding for EighthInch since the beginning of the year. I finally got a chance to hang out with him when he came out for MWM2 and we had a pretty fun weekend with the rest of the EighthInch crew. Jeffery’s riding has really progressed since we picked him up. Check out his updated rider profile to learn a little more about him.
Even though it’s over a month away we thought we would mention the Eurobike Fixed Gear Championship and remind anyone looking to make some travel plans. The event features sprints, a lake ride, trick jam, and I’m sure a pretty big party. All this will take place in Germany during Eurobike so it should be packed. If you plan on going to Eurobike or need an excuse to visit Germany be sure to stop out. Click the banner for more details.
